Storytelling:
The eastern city gate used to be the outer city gate at the Wat Saen Fang intersection. Before being moved to be the inner city gate in 1296 AD, and now it is the only side where the city gate is still located. In the past this place was called “Wiang Ruek Gate” because it is close to Wiang Ruek Village. The word Wiang means city and at this place there are many boats. Therefore, new words with the same meaning were invented. Until it became the word "Tha Phae Gate"
Nowadays we don't see many ships traveling around anymore. There are only canals kept for people to remember. Tourists like to take pictures with the red brick wall that has been integrated into a memorial of this city. Probably only city dwellers from the past could recall the atmosphere of rafting at Wiang Ruea Gate Pier.
Year 2023, in a cafe, she sat and collected the outline of a red brick wall in order to continue the creating process, to paint and to add brush strokes in her style. Today's Eastern Gate takes her to the imaginary “Tha Phae Gate” when it was first established in the Phaya Mangrai era in 1296 AD.

ประตูเมืองฝั่งตะวันออกเคยเป็นประตูเมืองชั้นนอกบริเวณสี่แยกวัดแสนฝาง ก่อนถูกย้ายมาเป็นประตูเมืองชั้นใน พ.ศ 1839 และปัจจุบันเป็นฝั่งเดียวที่ยังคงมีประตูเมืองตั้งอยู่ สถานที่นี้สมัยก่อนเรียกว่า “ประตูเวียงเรือก” เพราะใกล้กับหมู่บ้านเวียงเรือก ซึ่งคำว่าเวียง แปลว่าเมือง และ ณ สถานที่นี้มีเรือมากมาย จึงมีการคิดคำศัพท์เรียกใหม่ที่มีความหมายเหมือนกัน จนกลายมาเป็นคำว่า “ประตูท่าแพ”
ปัจจุบันเราไม่เห็นเรือสัญจรไปมามากมายอีกแล้ว มีแต่คูคลองเก็บไว้ให้ผู้คนลำลึกถึง นักท่องเที่ยวต่างชอบมาถ่ายรูปกับกำแพงอิฐแดง ที่ได้รับการบูรณาการณ์ให้เป็นอนุสรณ์ของเมืองนี้ คงมีแต่ชาวเมืองสมัยก่อนที่จะนึกย้อนไปได้ถึงบรรยากาศขึ้นแพที่ท่าประตูเวียงเรือก
ปี 2566 ในร้านคาเฟ่แห่งหนึ่งเธอนั่งเก็บโครงร่างของกำแพงอิฐแดงเพื่อจะนำไปสร้างสรรค์ต่อ ลงสีและใส่ลายพู่กันในแบบของเธอต่อไป ประตูตะวันออกในวันนี้นำพาเธอไปรู้จักกับประตูท่าแพในจิตนาการเมื่อแรกตั้งในยุคสมัยพญามังราย พ.ศ 1839

Storytelling:
This Bodhi tree was a tall and large tree in one of the temples in the inner city. Their leaves have a distinctive heart-shaped feature. We sat and waited for the sky to become completely dark. Stores began to turn on soft yellow neon lights and were highlighted with white street lights. Tonight you could almost count the cars passing by. Motorcycles drive pass and park on the side of the road in groups.
The evening meal begins. People travel to this road to find something savory and sweet. She likes the atmosphere of this night.

ต้นโพธิ์ต้นนี้ชันต้นสูงใหญ่ในวัดแห่งหนึ่งของเมืองชั้นใน ใบของเค้ามีลักษณะเด่นคล้ายรูปหัวใจ เรานั่งรอเวลาท้องฟ้ามืดสนิท ร้านค้าเริ่มเปิดไฟนีออนสีเหลืองอ่อน และเน้นด้วยไฟแนวถนนสีขาว คืนนี้รถยนต์ผ่านไปมาแทบจะนับคันได้ รถมอเตอร์ไซ์ขับปาดมาจอดริมถนนเรียงเป็นกลุ่มๆ

Then the shuttle bus appears, and the group of people hurry to find seats for themself and the family with children. We cannot all hop in on the bus; the remainders walk following the bus path to exit the forest route.
